One week of gourmet experiences

Spend one week dedicated to the finer things in life. Enjoy the best of France's culinary offerings including gourmet cheese, fresh market produce, delectable wines, and mouth-watering pasteries. This week long stay is full of convivial moments around a table of delicacies.

Day one Lyon: Visit the city

Your trip begins with a visit to the must-see French city Lyon. Lyon is widely considered to be the gastronomic capital of France. Your day will be spent visiting the sights and enjoying the flavors of Lyon. You will discover the beautiful Fourviere Basilica, the old city center, and learn about the history of this ancient city with your personal guide. You will never want to leave this traditional french city once you taste what it has to offer.

Day two Lyon: Outdoor market and a cooking course

After the first night spent in Lyon, you will meet up with your cooking expert for a hands-on demonstration and cooking lesson. You will discover and learn to cook some of France's most famous dishes based on fresh ingredients after a visit to the famous Croix Rousse outdoor market. For lunch, enjoy your own creation elaborated that same morning. After lunch, your personal guide will accompany you to the famous indoor market of Lyon “Les Halles Paul Bocuse”. After a guided tour, you will enjoy a dinner composed of the famous lyonnais dishes found at the indoor market. After dinner you have the option of taking a boat tour along the Saone river, or a free evening to explore the town.

Day three Lyon: Visit a cheese cave in the Alpes

Your guide will pick you up in the morning at your hotel in Lyon. You will then drive for about 1 hour towards the Alpes where many famous french cheese are made. You will participate in a guided tour of a cheese cave, as well as a tasting of some of the most famous french cheeses. Lunch will be held in a traditional french mountain village. In the afternoon you may opt for a guided hike in the mountains, or for a free afternoon of exploration in the city/village of your choice. Dinner is in Lyon after you return from your day of exploration.

Day four Lyon: nature foraging and a cooking class

You will meet up with your guide for a day-long activity of foraging in nature and learning to cook with wild plants. Along the nature walk, learn about different wild plants and their nutritional advantages. Upon return from your walk, you will participate in a cooking class using the plants that you found during the hike. You will enjoy tasting what you cooked during your class. The night is spent in Lyon.

Day five Beaune: Tour a vineyard and taste wine

In the morning, you will drive for about 1 hour and 30 minutes to the heart of the Bourgogne wine country. You will begin your visit with a guided tour of the city of Beaune. This traditional city is a must-see for any true wine connessieur. Lunch is held in Beaune city center. After lunch, you will visit several different regional vineyards, each with the opportunity to taste and purchase wine. All purchased wine can be shipped to your home by your tour organizer. Dinner will be held in Beaune after your afternoon of wine tasting. The night is spent in Beaune.

Day six: Agrotourism farm stay

After breakfast in Beaune, you will rejoin your guide and head to the French countryside. You will visit a traditional French farm in the morning, which will also serve as your hotel and dinner location for the night. After a visit of the farm, you will take a prepared picnic to the countryside and enjoy the afternoon visiting some of the local villages. Dinner is prepared by the farm using fresh ingredients, many of which were produced on the farm.

Day seven: Depart from Lyon

Your guide will accompany you back to Lyon and facilitate any transport to the airport or to another connecting tour. All prices include accomadations, transport and tours. Meals are not included.
